about

Summer just started and with it comes Welcome Back Sailors’s first full length album. We were looking for it, we were waiting for it–the last piece to complete our packing and leave for our holidays. “Yes/Sun” is the kind of album composed having a perfect trip in mind, with time to enjoy the distances to travel. Falling asleep at cruising speed in the back seat, you dream of when you were a child, the light that wakes you poking through your eyes is just the same. It was dusk in the Napa Valley, it’s the dawn in Ibiza. From the italian province of Reggio Emilia, Welcome Back Sailors get to the beach with a smile, the sun’s reflection on the water looks like confetti or perhaps butterflies on the synth. A voice from far away slides on the waves and the reverbs. She puts on her sunglasses and you try to remember what happened last night, an envelope full of postcards, soft drum machines as pillows in the shade. “I’ll be there” she said pointing on the map: Gothenburg, the next destination, the same melody starts stretching, the same sky filled with clear sound, the same wind to lift your arms. We’ll leave soon, for another trip.
