"I wrote the first line of this song in the bathtub late at night. All together, it’s about theme parks when you are young, having the round bought for you by the same person who taught you what good vodka is, gratitude for being cared for in the past, and a big Hail Mary pass about being cared for in the future. For some reason to me, it has a Country heart. In another life maybe I could have twanged it—I will work on that!"
lyrics
Was it Magic Mountain or Disneyland?
When you raised up your hand
And for a whole 6 hour ride
Smiled stupid wide, stupid wide, stupid wide
And was it at church or at a bar in Spokane?
When you held out your hand
Said, bring me the check, but wait a sec–make sure the band
Gets something good, something good, something good
So how about this New Year’s Eve
You give up
Giving up on me
And was in my room or in a parking lot
When I begged God to make the truth be not
And with my head, my head in my hands
Said I don’t understand, I don’t understand, I don’t understand
And you said
Neither do I, neither do I, neither do I
So how about this New Year’s Eve
You give up
Giving up on me

We want music to never turn into something boring for us. It would mean that we have become boring. Because music does not
die with mp3′s or copyright: boredom is what brings it down, when it becomes a habit. All we need is a small do-it-yourself collective, as tiny as a simple smile....more
