Among all the anniversaries and celebrations of this 2019, there is one very dear to WWNBB: the 20 years of solo career for singer-songwriter ANT – the moniker behind Antony Harding. Two decades in which ANT has published a number of albums, EPs and singles that makes it easy to fall in love with his music. ANT’s first songs were released in 1999, and 20 years later we are honored to share this collection of songs that through the years were put out by labels all across the world, and celebrate an author able to write the most intimate and delicate acoustic pop, able to conquer as well a refined ear as John Peel’s.
That’s how Cry Your Little Heart Out came to be, 18 tracks (including some rarities!) spanning through ANT’s career, and titled after one of his most beautifully touching songs.
“The album is made up of my favourites as well as the most popular songs with the fans on streaming platforms and also on the Chinese music sites (where I get a lot more streams!). The title comes from a lyric in one of the songs featured on the album, and I thought it was the perfect title as it contains both crying and the heart — both of course strong themes in most of my work!”
The clear and unique sound of ANT’s warm ballads, the lyrics chosen to express his emotions, the arrangements – so perfectly measured to bring each song closer to the ears and heart of the listener: that’s 20 years of pure and bright inspiration!

Questo 2019 che sta per concludersi, tra i tanti anniversari da ricordare e celebrare, ne racchiude anche uno molto caro alla famiglia WWNBB: il traguardo dei vent’anni di carriera solista per il cantautore di origini britanniche Antony Harding. Lungo due decenni, dopo essere stato batterista nella seminale formazione degli Hefner negli Anni Novanta, Antony ha pubblicato sia a proprio nome che con il nome d’arte ANT una quantità di album, singoli ed EP dentro ai quali non è difficile perdersi. ANT, infatti, ha continuamente collaborato con etichette inglesi, italiane, svedesi, spagnole e anche di Taiwan e della Cina.
Sembrava arrivato, quindi, il momento giusto per fare un punto della situazione e festeggiare un autore che sa interpretare un certo pop acustico ed intimo con una delicatezza e una grazia assolutamente uniche, e la cui poesia aveva conquistato anche un orecchio raffinato come quello di John Peel.
Nasce così Cry Your Little Heart Out, un disco che raccoglie ben 18 tracce (comprese alcune rarità, a rendere l’antologia ancora più interessante) che spaziano dal 1999 a oggi, e che prende il titolo da una delle più belle e sinceramente toccanti canzoni di ANT.
«Questa compilation raccoglie una selezione delle mie canzoni preferite, ma ho voluto che tenesse conto anche di quelle più popolari sulle varie piattaforme di streaming, comprese quelle asiatiche, dove i risultati mi sorprendono sempre molto. Mi piaceva che avesse questo titolo perché, in fondo, le lacrime e il cuore sono due temi che tornano spesso nelle mie canzoni e nelle mie storie.»
Il suono limpido delle ballate di ANT, pieno di calore, inconfondibile; la scelta di parole semplici e dirette per raccontare le proprie emozioni; gli arrangiamenti misurati che sembrano quasi farti arrivare queste canzoni vicino, in punta di piedi: vent’anni di ispirazione purissima e luminosa.
