about

According to the Urban Dictionary, the 9-5er is a person who strictly follows the work routine from 9 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon, but he is also a person involved in a boring, monotonous, absolutely repetitive job. "9-5er" is therefore the ordinariness, the indeformable routine, the invisible barrier between human beings in the same workplace, that is two parallel lines that will never coincide. It is the inability to live another existence than the one relegated to a job, it is the lack of a profound dialogue with colleagues, with whom they exchange aseptic philosophy pills during the coffee break, it is the cold automatism of the days and the impossibility of telling oneself. However "9-5er" is also the dream vision of a flamingo on its way home, its beauty that breaks that necklace of order and habit. For this song we collaborated with Luca Lovisetto (Baseball Gregg), with whom we recorded the first draft in his bedroom. The dreamy and psychedelic atmosphere of the song is inspired by the productions of the Flaming Lips. The synthesizer arpeggio at the end of the piece was performed by Bruno Germano.

lyrics

Ordinary job, ordinary annual income.
Ordinary floss, ordinary oral care.
Haircut like an ordinary man.
Sunday like a worn-out boxing glove.
Cut-and-dried philosophy.
Tacoma magnet on the fridge.
A season ticket for the gym:
“Oh, can I charge my battery?”.
Small talks in the coffee break:
I've never seen a deeper blue.
Put on a list another dream (9-5,9-5!):
“I saw a flamingo on my way back home,
we were both alone”.
Cut-and-dried philosophy.
Miami magnet on the fridge.
A season ticket for the gym: “
Oh, can I charge my battery?”.
Small talks in the coffee break:
who cares about my cockatoo?
I'm tied in from 9 to 5 (9-5, 9-5!).
Ordinary job, ordinary annual income.
Ordinary floss, ordinary oral care.
Haircut like an ordinary man.
Sunday like a worn-out boxing glove.
Haircut like an ordinary man,
Sunday like a solitary love.
I saw a flamingo on my way back home,
we were both alone.
I can't stop checking my phone.
I saw a flamingo on my way back home,
we were both alone.
I'm just trying to be cool.
Cut-and-dried philosophy,
the latest bill is on the fridge.
A season ticket for the gym:
“Oh, can I charge my battery?”.
Small talks in the coffee break:
I've never seen a deeper blue.
Registering another dream (9-5, 9-5!).
Ordinary job, ordinary annual income.
Ordinary floss, ordinary oral care.
Ordinary job, ordinary annual income.
Ordinary floss, ordinary oral care.
Haircut like an ordinary man,
Sunday like a worn-out boxing glove.
Ordinary job, ordinary annual income.
Ordinary floss, ordinary oral care.
Ordinary job, ordinary annual income.
Ordinary floss, ordinary oral care.
Haircut like an ordinary man,
Sunday like a worn-out boxing glove.
Haircut like an ordinary man,
Sunday like a solitary man.

about

We Were Never Being Boring Collective Italy

We want music to never turn into something boring for us. It would mean that we have become boring. Because music does not die with mp3′s or copyright: boredom is what brings it down, when it becomes a habit. All we need is a small do-it-yourself collective, as tiny as a simple smile. ... more
