Love songs are usually about longings, sorrows, sweetness or disappointments. Love songs believe in their own promises. But one detail that love songs don't tell often enough it is that sometimes love doesn't solve everything. Love is everything, except when that everything becomes too much, leaving no room for anything else.
Simmcat is a young singer-songwriter from Rome, who plays
what can be defined as a very delicate “bedroom pop” and writes songs that feel like caresses. Inside that delicacy, however, there is determination. There is clarity and there is strength even in a whisper and barely strummed acoustic guitar.
Simmcat's new single, titled Without You, is a snapshot of that moment when you realize that the love you feel is so strong that you miss the person you have in front of you. Without You tells “how difficult it is to be able to accept the fact that sometimes love just isn't enough to make something work."
